Provisional Driving Licence In Brighton

The first step towards your full driving license is to apply for a provisional driving license.

You can apply for the license up to three months before your 17th birthday, however you will still have to wait until your birthday before you can take your theory test or start to drive.

Currently the fee is £34.00  and you can apply if you are a resident of Great Britain, can meet the minimum age and eyesight requirement and currently not prevented from driving for any reason.

If you want to apply online make sure you have at hand:

  • A valid debit or credit card
  • Your UK passport if you have one or another form of identity
  • Your national insurance number
  • Details of previous addresses over the last three years

Your request is normally processed by the DVLA within 2 weeks.

Cards accepted are Master Card, Visa, Electron, Maestro or Delta.
